Location and Logistics:
- Directions will be given to you once you RSVP. You must RSVP in advance. Space is limited and this is not a drop-in Circle.
- There will be a small fee (payable in advance to hold your space) to help cover costs of supplies and energy.
- Rituals/Ceremonies start on time. Please arrive promptly. No late arrivals will be allowed into Circle.
- Please call Temple Mother Oseaana if you expect to be late or need to cancel.
- Most rituals/ceremonies are held at Pumpkin Cottage (Oseaana's home) unless otherwise stated. Pumpkin Cottage is very small so we will likely be outside under a canopy. Please bring a chair or pillow/blanket to site on.
- Bring sunscreen, bug spray, water/something to drink and anything else that you may need to be comfortable outside.
- If the ritual or ceremony needs to be canceled you will be notified via email or text message (unless you ask to be contacted by another method) no later than 5 hours before the scheduled time. In this case we will re-schedule.
- The inside of Pumpkin Cottage is a shoe-free zone. Please respect this and remove your shoes when you enter the house to use the bathroom, etc.
- We have two cats and one dog. The cats are indoor cats, please do not let them outside.
- Oseaana's partner may or may not be home. Sometimes she will join us in circle or assist.
- Pumpkin Cottage is situated in a small neighborhood and is close to neighbors.
- A snack will be shared after the ceremony/ritual. If you would like to bring something to share please do. Bring a bottle of water or something to drink if you need it.
- For rituals/ceremonies held in Saugerties, please see the informational email you will receive before the date. This email will have the address and location and more information.
About our Tradition (more info about our Tradition & Temple):
- This is a Goddess-centered Tradition, as such all rituals and ceremonies will be Goddess-centered.
- We do not call in God or male Spirits.
- Most ceremonies and rituals are women-only.
- Women 18 years and older are welcome. Younger women are welcome with their parent/guardian.
- Male children who are nursing are welcome.
- If you are bringing a child please tend to them as to not disrupt the energy of the service.
- Temple Priestesses and Sisters cover their heads during ritual/ceremony at the Mother Temple. This is not required for other attendees, however please feel free if this is something that you feel called to do.
- Please come to the ritual/ceremony with an open-heart and an open-mind.
- This is not a Wiccan coven/circle/ritual/ceremony. While some Wiccan elements are borrowed such as closing and opening the circle by calling in the Four Sacred Gateways (East, South, West, North) we do not follow a traditional Wiccan ritual format. Therefore we do not follow the Wiccan Rede or any Wiccan tenants.
- When we cast our circle we do so "from the heart" therefore we do not read from pre-written text or liturgy. On the very rare occasion we will use pre-written liturgy and in that context it is prefered that it comes from memory.
- Each woman is expected to participate in some way. If you have attended rituals before and have experienced other spiritual/magickal circles (neo-pagan, Wiccan, Dianic, etc.) our style of ritual may be a bit different. We ask that you be open to challenging yourself and flowing with the experience, however, you will never be asked to do something that you are not comfortable doing.
- If you feel called to, please bring offerings for the altar (flowers, stones, Goddess images, photos, magickal items, etc.) that you will be taking home with you.
- We like to have fun and laugh and enjoy ourselves during our spiritual and magickal ceremonies. We may drum, sing, dance or chant. however please try to stay focused on the task at hand and be mindful of the situation and the other women around you.
- Please know that you are responsible for your personal well-being. As empowered women we are not afraid to ask for the things that we need. As sisters we support each other.
- Everything said and done in Sacred Space stays in Sacred Space! Please do not share the specifics of the ritual/ceremony with anyone who did not attend.
- This is not "Goddess Therapy" nor is it a place to dump all of your problems at the altar expecting Goddess, the Priestesses and Sisters to fix it for you. Goddess ritual is not a subsitute for medical and/or psychriatric care.
- If you are interested in learning more about our Temple and Tradition, we have a learning circle called Spirit Sisters. Please speak with Temple Mother Oseaana.
