The Scarlet & Amethyst Temple and Tradition was birthed during Hallows 2007.

It was created out of the nearly 20 years of experience and study by our Temple Mother, Oseaana in areas such as Dianic Witchcraft, Goddess Spirituality, Hoodoo/Rootwork/Conjure, Spellcraft, Sea Magick, African Traditional Religions and Ancestor Veneration. The Scarlet & Amethyst Tradition is a combination of all of these things and more.

Each Sister in the Temple brings her own personal energy to the circle allowing it to grow and morph into a structure that is uniquely Scarlet & Amethyst.

The roots of the Scarlet & Amethyst Tradition is in Goddess Spirituality and the Dianic Tradition but the Scarlet & Amethyst Tradition is not a Dianic Tradition. Temple Mother Oseaana's spiritual foundation is in Dianic Witchcraft, therefore the Tradition and Temple give honor and respect to the Grandmothers and Mothers of the Dianic Traditions.

Also, Scarlet & Amethyst is not a Wiccan tradition and therefore does not adhere to the tenants of Wicca.

Our Tradition may seem to fit nicely under the neo-pagan umbrella, however the Tradition is more akin to mysticism. Scarlet & Amethyst is a women’s mysteries path of spirituality and magick. Also, the Tradition is an American witchcraft tradition with most of its magickal roots in Hoodoo and Rootwork.

Scarlet & Amethyst is an experiential tradition which is handed from Priestesses who have been trained to women who seek to learn. Each woman in the Temple is encouraged to create and follow her own spiritual path.

While the Scarlet & Amethyst Temple and Tradition is Goddess-centered, we work with many Spirits and Energies and do not deny God. Scarlet & Amethyst simply adheres to the Temple's purpose of empowering women through Goddess.

In the Scarlet & Amethyst Tradition it is very important to work with and honor Goddesses from around the world. The Scarlet & Amethyst Tradition honors Goddesses from Pre-Columbian America, Africa, Asia, Europe, the Middle East, Polynesia, etc. We do not appropriate other traditions or cultures but hold them in high esteem and pay homage to the wisdom the Ancestors have allowed to be shared.

The Tradition is a blend of aspects of many traditions, philosophies and spiritual paths.

The philosophy of Bruce Lee 'take what is useful, reject what is useless, add what is essentially your own' is a major influence in the creation and work of the Scarlet & Amethyst Tradition.
